August 7 & 8, 2015
Each year, more than 1,000 newborns are admitted into the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Without proper equipment, our tiniest of patients can’t get the treatment they need. The Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation raises funds to provide the RNICU with technology, equipment and support to help save the lives of these babies each year.
The 10th annual Miracle Bash will be held at Baron Bluff at Burritt on the Mountain on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. You’ll enjoy a buffet dinner, a fabulous silent auction, and live music!
All proceeds will benefit the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation for state-of-the-art equipment for the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

Swim for Melissa:
The 10th annual Swim for Melissa is set for Saturday, August 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hampton Cove Pool! It’s a non-competitive swim for kids 4 to 16 years old. During the event, each child will have the opportunity to swim as many laps as possible during a 5-minute time period.
Registration is $20 per swimmer, and all participants will receive a free t-shirt. Swimmers will also receive additional prizes for money raised.
In addition to the swim, the entire family is invited to enjoy a day full of family fun – face painting, food, and more!
Proceeds from Swim for Melissa will be used to provide a Giraffe Warmer and isolette, both of which provide developmentally supportive microenvironments that help preterm infants thrive; Syringe Pumps; “Journey Beads” for parents to commemorate their baby’s millstones while in the NICU; 4 chairs designed to support “kangaroo care,” allowing the parent to hold their child skin-to-skin to ensure bonding; and a family support program.
The 2014 Miracle Bash and Swim for Melissa, the signature fundraising events for the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund, were a raging success with 400 Bash guests, and more than 195 swimmers. Since its creation in 2005, the fund has raised nearly $2 million for the RNICU. Event proceeds from this year’s event will be used to provide a finger print scanning security system, and a Giraffe Omnibed, as well as enhancements for the family support program and family waiting room.
